Earlier this year, Angie and I embarked on a
new direction and series of mixed media artworks where we engaged both of our
strengths.
Over a base of Angie’s selected photographs
collaged onto an acrylic panel, we layered another panel of abstracted gestural
strokes, colors and some text.

The final works then fixed together and framed were a true joint effort. This
series of ten mixed media works entitled, “Portals & Passages II”
referenced our recent travels in Asia and was selected by Singapore International
Foundation to be exhibited at the Singapore Embassy in Washington D.C.

Ambassador and Mrs. Mirpuri could not have been
more gracious hosts as the Maya Dance Group as well as our slideshow presentation
introduced Washington to a truly Singaporean evening.
It was an honor for Angie
and I to showcase our Singapore conceived works and be part of a bigger event,
which was attended by an international crowd of diplomats and business leaders.
